When you purchase a property in the TRNC you will have to pay the following taxes:

1. STAMP DUTY – this is the transfer of title tax which is currently set at 3% for your first purchase and 6% on subsequent purchases.
2. LOCAL TAX – this is a small amount payable to the council where the property is built which is currently set at 1% of the stamp duty value.
3. KDV – this is the VAT tax on the property which is currently set at 5%.

Please Note:
All taxes are paid once the property is completed, so depending on whether you are looking for a short, medium or long term investment, and which route you take to make your multiple purchases you may be in a position where you do not have to pay any tax!
